The Hospice Social Workers
make regularly scheduled visits. Social workers are good
listeners and respect your confidentiality. The social worker is
familiar with the many feelings and stresses that arise when you or
your loved one is ill.
Hospice Social Workers:

Provide emotional support, helping the patient and family members
cope and adjust to the life-threatening illness of the patient and
the impact on everyone in the family.

Help with explaining serious illness and death to children

Give information and guidance about:

Financial Aid

Community services
·
Funeral Planning
·
Legal problems

Assist families in communicating more openly and helping to find
ways to fulfill individual and family needs: and

Provide information and guidance about loss and the normal grief
